FAQ: Is there a smart home starter kit for motorized blinds and shades, for home automation?
Smart home automation systems for motorized blinds, shades and many other functions can use the x10 communications protocol that sends digital control signals through the existing AC wires in your home. Costly rewiring of your home is unnecessary because you just plug in control modules wherever you need them.
In its simplest form, you have 3 elements:
- smart home modules plugged into an AC outlet that receive commands to control blind and shade motors, appliances and other devices.
- hand held wireless remote control transmitters that send control signals
- receivers plugged into an AC outlets that transmit commands over the AC house wiring to the control modules
Our x10 starter kits can be used to set up a very simple system and expand it as desired. The optional PC software is included in the kit, but does not have to be used if you want to keep it simple. You can activate the PC software later if you want to enhance your system capabilities with sensors, motion detectors, timers, , etc.
There are 2 smart home starter kits that you need to start your smart home project - one that is optimized for motorized blind and shade motor control, and one that is optimized for irrigation control. The irrigation kit can be expanded to include motorised blind and shade control, and conversely, the motorized blind and shade kit can be expanded to include irrigation control (and anything else):
Smart Home Starter Kit for Blind and Shade Motors
Smart Home Starter Kit for Irrigation and Watering
x10 smart home systems can be used to control many things: motorized blinds or shades, lights, heat, irrigation, appliances, burglar alarms, fire alarms, security, etc. Your imagination is the only limit.
We sincerely hope you enjoy using these advanced systems; if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at any time!
