Welcome to the NodeSwitch™ Group Controller for Blind Motors, Window Openers, Skylights etc

This blind control kit (DCK-ZW-24RNA) is a single channel GROUP controller kit for our motorized blinds and shades, window openers, skylight shades, motorized drapery and curtain kits, and other reversible motors. The kit consists of the DCC-ZW-24R controller unit, a 24v DC power supply, and a group transmitter for our radio motors.

Please see the complete instructions at our website:

Whether you have 2 or 200 motors in the group, it will control all the motors in the group simultaneously, and each motor can have its own individual travel limits. We use the Qubino dual relay module as the Z-Wave trigger as it has the latest generation of Z-Wave chip that works with most Z-Wave hubs.

It is a member of our Unity series of controllers, so named because it is capable of using multiple radio protocols to control your motors. You can use any of the following RF radio methods to control a group of your shades and blinds with this unit:

  • Use a ZWAVE hub, such as SmartThings or Vera. These hubs usually have voice interfaces for systems such as Alexa or Google Home.
  • It has been verified to work with these ZWAVE hubs:
    • Fibaro Home Center Lite
    • HomeSeer
    • SmartThings Hub - (custom device handler required for full functionality. You need to install 2 handlers for this device: handler1 and handler2 for best results)
    • VeraEdge Z-Wave Gateway Controller
    • VeraLite Z-Wave Gateway Controller
    • VeraPlus Z-Wave Plus Advanced Home Controller
    • Zipato Z-Wave Zipabox Smart Home Controller
    • Zipato ZipaTile Home Automation Controller
  • Use any WiFi enabled device with a browser, such as phone, tablet, or laptop (this controller unit is configured for group operation via WiFi).
  • Use our wall mount and hand held remote controls. Our customers often use wall mount remotes at room entry points.
  • Use our RF/IR BroadLink hub, with its own Android or iPhone app. It can also be used with Alexa or Google home; please see this article.

Please note that Z-Wave and WiFi are mutually exclusive methods of operation. If you have selected Z-Wave control in the CONFIGURE GROUP area, when you return to MOTOR CONTROL, this web interface will disappear. If you want to change some settings, you can activate this web interface again by holding down switch 3 on the controller for a few seconds (long press).

This unit is powered by a fast, dual core Wi-Fi microchip with plenty of memory and control inputs/outputs. From a cold start this device can be online, connected to your WiFi network in under a second!

There are 3 important files pre-loaded into the non-volatile flash memory of this unit: HOME, CONFIGURE GROUP, and MOTOR CONTROL. You can launch the MOTOR CONTROL page to see what it looks like, then launch the CONFIGURE GROUP page to apply your particular group settings.

File Name Description

The home page is loaded after you power up this controller for the first time and follow the initial instructions to configure your WiFi settings to get an IP address on your local WiFi router. It provides introductory information about the controller, with links to the other files shown below.

The IP Address, (and thus the browser address) on the unit will look like this:

CONFIGURE GROUP This page allows you to set timing parameters, control screen wording, email or text addresses, and other items that affect how this group controller behaves. There are hints on the page that provide assistance for each setting.

Blind motor control with interactive slider (if you choose the WiFi mode of operation, instead of Z-Wave). You can set the percentage of travel with the interactive slider, or roll the shade to its fully deployed or fully retracted position. You can also STOP the motor anywhere.

You can also configure it via the web browser control to use different words. For example, instead of 'Blinds' you can configure it to be a 'Window Opener' or 'Skylight Opener' or 'Garage Door Opener'.

Your account can also be configured to send email or text to multiple addresses. For example, you may want to know that a skylight actually closed if it is raining.

If you choose the Z-Wave mode of operation, you would use the control screen for your Z-Wave hub.
