12v Motors for Single-Hung & Double-Hung Windows: Control with Alexa™

Adrian Biffen, Senior Partner

Please Note: You can also control these window motors with our simple remote controls, but we have included this link about Alexa™ motor control. It assumes you have already set up your BroadLink hub (see home theater control article series).

Here is a 20 second video from our Youtube channel demonstrating our 12v (safe low voltage) mirrored actuator motors for particular sticky single hung and double hung windows: (provided by a customer)

Custom Stroke (Window Opening Amount):

Our 'Slider' motors always require a custom stroke, and the stroke (opening distance) can be set when there is a requirement for ADA compatible motors.

Please note that our mirrored sliders for sticky windows are also always manufactured to specification, but you may only need a single unit on one side, if your window moves freely.

Our skylight and window opener motors (chain type) can also be manufactured with a custom stroke that is different from the 12 inches they normally come with (300mm).

These are inventory items, unlike the 'Sliders', which always require a custom stroke that is fabricated in the factory. Here is the link to the remote control SLIDER KIT:

You can also purchase 'stand-alone' window motors, if you have more than 1 window to do. In this case, you can parallel the wiring to power more openers, if you have enough amperage in your 12v power supply or battery (ask us about this).

We sincerely hope you enjoy using these advanced motors; if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at any time!

Skylight and window opener motors are essential components of any modern building. These motors enable the automation and remote control of skylight and window openings, providing a range of benefits to building occupants and owners.

Features of Skylight and Window Opener Motors

Skylight and window opener motors are designed to automate the opening and closing of skylights and windows, providing a range of features that make them ideal for use in modern buildings. These motors are available in a range of sizes and configurations, and can be used with a variety of different types of skylights and windows.

One of the key features of skylight and window opener motors is their ability to be controlled remotely. This means that building owners and occupants can easily open and close their skylights and windows from a distance, using a remote control or mobile app. This feature is particularly useful in high-rise buildings, where manual operation of skylights and windows can be difficult or dangerous.

Another important feature of skylight and window opener motors is their ability to be integrated with building automation systems. This allows them to be controlled automatically, based on a range of different factors, such as temperature, humidity, and occupancy. This can help to reduce energy consumption and improve indoor air quality, by providing natural ventilation when it is needed.

Benefits of Skylight and Window Opener Motors

Skylight and window opener motors provide a range of benefits to building occupants and owners. These benefits include:

  • Improved indoor air quality: By providing natural ventilation, skylight and window opener motors can help to improve indoor air quality, reducing the risk of health problems caused by poor air quality.
  • Enhanced comfort: By allowing occupants to control the opening and closing of skylights and windows, skylight and window opener motors provide enhanced comfort, allowing people to adjust the amount of fresh air and sunlight entering the building.
  • Reduced energy consumption: By providing natural ventilation, skylight and window opener motors can help to reduce the need for mechanical ventilation systems, reducing energy consumption and lowering operating costs.
  • Improved safety: By providing remote control of skylights and windows, skylight and window opener motors can help to improve safety, reducing the risk of accidents and injuries associated with manual operation.
