Title: Lifting Weight and Length (Higher Capacity Motors?)
Post by: cmaglio on September 10, 2013, 06:16:28 PM
Are the higher capacity motors available now? I have a 12 foot sliding glass door that I would like to install a single roller shade with (hopefully lightweight) sun shade type material. I have no idea what kind of weight this would be...

I suppose I could split it into 3 panels (triple slider). But this would obviously be more expensive and less ideal for window coverage.

Have you seen this type of weight/length on a single motor/roller?

Thanks!

Hi, our 12 lb heavy duty motors will handle a shade of that size, but finding a tube and fabric that long can be difficult. Often it is actually less expensive to split it into 2 shades.

Adrian,

Thanks. The fabric can be hard to find, I have been looking.

In the other post in this forum you mentioned that motors with a heavier load capacity were becoming available soon. Have those been delayed/canceled?

Thanks again!
