Features of this WiFi enabled motor for blinds and shades:

  • Slider control is also interactive - drag to any detent (stop) position and press the appropriate button
  • Provides WiFi control of any of our Series G radio motors
  • 10 travel steps, and the motor can be stopped at any of these detent steps
  • Buttons change color when activated, then revert back to the original color when the motor stops
  • Slider control shows progress from full retraction to full deployment of the blind
  • Deployment time can be set differently from the retraction time (reflects motor speed load differences)
  • State and position of the roller shade is maintained between sessions
  • Text displayed below switch reveals position of shade or blind
  • We also have a horizontal version of this vertical slider for blind motors

This system uses Micropython in combination with the advanced ESP32 microcontroller. Micropython is a miniature subset of the Python 3 language for microcontrollers, and there is a special version for the ESP32 microcontroller.

The ESP32 is an advanced device, with WiFi and BLE built into the chip substrate. That fact alone makes this dual-core microcontroller extremely fast - it can go from a cold boot to 'internet connected' status in less than a second. Micropython adds a complete operating system for creating files and sub-folders.
